Florida Gulf Coast Early Literacy Learning Model (ELLM)

Details: The Florida Gulf Coast ELLM (Early Literacy Learning Model) program is beginning in all Head Start preschool classes across Collier County. Part of this model is a volunteer component. This component is called SEEDS (Skill-based Educational Experiences Delivery System).
Job Description: The volunteer works with five pairs of children once a week. The service is provided during the studentsí regular school day. We usually work from 9:30 to 11:30 but we will try to accommodate the schedule of the volunteer. The program provides bags of materials to be used during these sessions. There is a different bag and a different book each week. The bags include the book, a script and all supporting materials such as puppets, manipulative letters, color games, and plastic fruits and vegetables.
