Harry Chapin Food Bank
Political Action/Social Justice
The mission of the Harry Chapin Food Bank ("HCFB") is "to overcome hunger in our communities through education and by working in a cooperative effort with affiliated agencies in the procurement and distribution of food, equitably and without discrimination." The HCFB distributes emergency food through 160 partner agencies in five counties of S.W. Florida (Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry).
||Volunteers are needed to sort the food donated to the Food Bank for distribution to our partner agencies. It requires some lifting and bending. Sorting hours are Mon-Fri 8:30 to 11:30 am and Mon-Thur 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Limited Saturdays 9 am to 12 noon.
Volunteers are needed to assist with food distribution at mobile pantries. Sites vary across Charlotte, Collier, and Lee counties. Times vary from weekday evenings to Saturday's.
All volunteers must complete an application and schedule their volunteer time before volunteering.
