Mound House - a cultural and environmental learning center owned and operated by the Town of Fort Myers Beach. Offers archeological, historical and environmental tours. Assists with general management and running of facility.

The Mound House is a community treasure that welcomes everyone to participate in our activities. Currently, volunteers conduct tours, help with special events, provide clerical support, and assist in the upkeep of the house and grounds. Tour guides are trained in the history of the house, Estero Island, and the Calusa Indians.

To become a Mound House Volunteer, please contact our Education Coordinator at (239) 765-0865. We require all of our volunteers to fill out a background check and application which may take up to one week to process.

Volunteering with Mound House is educational, fun and there is a potential for internship opportunities. We have previously offered internships with a stipend to students in Communications, English, Anthropology, History, Environmental Science, and other interdisciplinary tracks.
