Details: The mission of the Guadalupe Center is "to break the cycle of poverty through education, social, and other support programs and resources." The Guadalupe Center's educational programs serve the long-term needs of Immokalee by starting with the very young and serving students through elementary, high school,and even post-secondary education. The programs include the Early Childhood Education (ECE),the Guadalupe After-school Program (GAP),the S.T.A.R. Educational Summer Camp, and the Tutor Corps (TC) program. In addition to these core educational programs, Guadalupe Center provides seasonal support services through events such as Back to School Shoes and Supplies, Thanksgiving in the Park, and the Holiday Gift Shop. Guadalupe Center has been changing the lives of SWFL's most at-risk youth and families for more than 30 years.
Job Description: Our main area where volunteers can participate is with our educational programs in Immokalee. Certain students may take advantage of volunteer opportunities in our Development/Fundraising Office in Naples. Our educational programs include the Early Childhood Education program, the summer program with students in Kindergarten-grade 2, or with high school students in the Tutor Corps Program.

Volunteers are also needed for our annual support program events- the largest of which is our annual Thanksgiving in the Park celebration held in Immokalee. The service opportunities at this event range from pre-event planning and coordination to the day-of food serving needs. There are also volunteer opportunities available with the other two support programs, Back to School Shoes and Supplies held in August and Holiday Gift Shop which takes place in December. Please contact us to discuss any of these opportunities.

Students may also volunteer in the early childhood education program with pre-K children, in the after-school tutoring program or summer camp with students K-2, or with high school students in the Tutor Corps Program.

Lastly, volunteers are needed for our annual support programs including Back to School Shoes, Thanksgiving in the Park, and the Holiday Gift Shop. Service opportunities at these events range from pre-event planning and coordination to the day of operation and on site support.
