The Deaf Service Center of Southwest Florida, Inc. was founded in 1983.  Our mission statement demonstrates a clear commitment to the residents of Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades and DeSoto counties:    “To empower Southwest Florida’s deaf and hard of hearing citizens and their families through education, advocacy, and community involvement.”    We are the only organization of its kind and scope in Southwest Florida – specifically working with the deaf and hard of hearing communities.  In addition, all of the members of our program staff have proficiency in American Sign Language.   

Deaf Service Center would be available for students to provide service learning with:  computer data base, communication through sign lanugage, events and project planning.

Volunteers and service providers are offered discounts on classes/workshops, sometimes free!

We are a small office, open to great idea's, and very flexible.  American Sign Language is helpful, but definately not required!  We look forward to working with you!
