| Job Description: |
Duties would vary depending on the work assignment but may include phone banking, attending public meetings (City Council or County Commissin meetings) in a show of support for a local ordinance designed to protect our water resources, miscellaneous office work, man a booth at an event like Earth Day, help out at open houses and other Sierra Club functions, etc. |

Volunteering with the Sierra Club field office provides the students with insights on the work of an environmental organization, what an organizer does and the skills needed to be successful; i.e. great communication skills both verbal and written, etc. Also good networking opportunity for environmental majors or anyone who is interested in the environment and would like to continue their ecological interest after college. |
