The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida is housed within Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers.  

Job Description:

Opportunity One: Department of Child Life has need of volunteers to interact socially with child or teen patients in connection with ongoing social programs such as weekly BINGO, monthly "camp-outs" in the lobby, or to simply play with and interact positively with patients. Student conceived programs may also be instituted provided they comply with hospital guidelines.   Child Life Requirements: Willing to spend 4 hours a week Be self-motivated Be interactive with patient Follow infection Control Policies Respect boundaries: no- trading emails or facebook pages, cell phone numbers Opportunity Two:   For Select Education Majors the Hospital''s resident school teacher can use assistance in his tasks of helping patients academically.   The privacy and confidentiality of our patients and families deserve our utmost respect. This means, among other things that we DO NOT ALLOW PHOTOGRAPHS to be taken by visiting groups or individuals. (Photography of an event by the media, with appropriate prior arrangements and parent consent is permitted.) Please respect patient/family rights for privacy and avoid sensitive topics. Do not ask questions about diagnosis, age and length of hospital stay, or plans for going home.
