Historical & Cultural Sites
The Military Heritage Museum is the preeminent museum of its type in southwest Florida. The mission of this nonprofit organization is to promote an understanding and respect for the rich military heritage of the United States and the sacrifices made by our country's veterans, living and dead, emphasizing that freedom is not free. The Museum's exhibits include artifacts and memorabilia from the Civil War through the current Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. Admission is free; the experience is priceless.
The Museum needs volunteers to act as guides, giving tours and assisting visitors; to assist the Museum's auxiliary committee with organizing and coordinating fundraising activities; to develop new sections for and to add additional information and photographs to the web site; to perform data entry and take photographs to update the Museum's inventory database; and to assist with the Museum's marketing and public relations efforts.
