Details: The goal of Cypress Cove is to provide quality healthcare in a caring, compassionate atmosphere. The emphasis here is on "family". We accomplish this through resident involvement, a dedicated and professional staff, and by promoting services to enhance the quality of life of our residents.
Job Description: The students volunteering at Cypress Cove will provide many services and programs which enhance and enrich the resident''s quality of life. Varied opportunities are available to the interested volunteer. Some of these activities can include
-assisting at programs such as crafts, baking, horticulture, socials, outings, worship services, sing songs, games, sensory stimulation, bible study, etc. -friendly visiting-reading with a resident-big events such as Senior Olympics or Assisted Living Week

Benefits Offered: Occasional meals or other treats may be offered at activities. Check with coordinator on each event to be sure.
Additional Information: We take volunteers 7 days a week!
Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM
Saturday- 9:30AM-5PM
Sunday- 1:30PM- 5PM

You can come volunteer and assist with our day to day activities or come for a special event.

Upcoming special events:

SUPER BOWL PARTY
-Sunday, February 1st 1PM-5PM
*Assist Activity Dept. with setting up refreshments, super bowl bingo and pre game activities.

MARDI GRAS
-Tuesday, February 17th shifts available from 9AM-5PM
*Assist with Mardi Gras lunch set up and execution, After party, and clean up

CHINESE NEW YEAR
-Thursday, February 19th shifts available from 10AM-5PM
*Assist with pre activity set up, execution and clean up

Last Week of February or First Week of March- Dog Park Grand Opening
*Need 1-2 volunteers to assist with refreshments and clean up of new Dog Park on campus- if interested ask for details!

Thursday March 12th 1:30PM-4PM- Clay Class
*Need one to two volunteers to assist with gathering and execution of a clay pottery class (an instructor will lead- need helpers to assist residents in creating their clay) and bringing them back home.

Friday, March 20th- 9AM-1PM BUTTERFLY GARDEN TRIP
*Go with us on our bus to the downtown Ft Myers Butterfly Garden and assist residents around the facility looking and interacting with the butterflies.

Wednesday April 22nd- 9AM-4PM WELLNESS FAIR
* Assist with set up, direct vendors and assist with break down of a wellness fair for residents/employees of Cypress Cove.

Saturday, May 2nd- KENTUCKY DERBY 1PM-7PM
*Assist with set up, execution and break down of Kentucky Derby activity for residents


Group Projects that are currently open to tackle:
*Implementing Activity Kits on each nursing unit
*Starting an educational series for our high functioning rehab clients (maybe on how to use your ipad, exercises to do at home once discharged etc.)
