Details: The goal of Cypress Cove is to provide quality healthcare in a caring, compassionate atmosphere. The emphasis here is on "family". We accomplish this through resident involvement, a dedicated and professional staff, and by promoting services to enhance the quality of life of our residents.
Job Description: The students volunteering at Cypress Cove will provide many services and programs which enhance and enrich the resident''s quality of life. Varied opportunities are available to the interested volunteer. Some of these activities can include
-assisting at programs such as crafts, baking, horticulture, socials, outings, worship services, sing songs, games, sensory stimulation, bible study, etc. -friendly visiting-reading with a resident-big events such as Senior Olympics or Assisted Living Week

Additional Information: Upcoming special events:

Assisted Living Week:
September 2013- 1950's style

Make a Difference Day:
October 2013- Reading to residents and planting new plants in our courtyard

Halloween Party/Events:
October 2013- Help us plan our staff and resident Halloween Party!

Fall Fest:
November 2013- Petting Zoo, Classic Cars, Dunk Tank, Games, Food and Fun! This is our biggest event of the year and we will need the most hands on deck!

Winter Holidays:
December 2013- Help us deck our halls! We have 7 Christmas trees to decorate as well as 4 hallways and 64 resident rooms to bring cheer to! Also help out with our annual lighting of the Christmas Tree and many other fun holiday events!


Projects that are currently open to tackle:
*Implementing Activity Kits on each nursing unit
*Starting an educational series for our high functioning rehab clients (maybe on how to use your ipad, exercises to do at home once discharged etc.)
