Details: The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to its' mission which is; To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Job Description: The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County is seeking volunteer teaching assistants, coaches,tutors and adult mentors for their after school program. As the largest youth development organization in Collier County, The Boys & Girls Club provides academic, leadership, physical education and fine arts programming to over 1500 students from grades 1-12 throughout Collier County.

Volunteer Teaching Assistants work with BGCCC staff and educators in the classroom, gym, fine arts, baseball field, aquatics facility, and technology, stem, and vo-tech labs. These volunteers assist, monitor and communicate with Club members as they help the staff in making the Club experience a fun, safe, and positive experience.

Volunteer Tutors provide students with extra help on an individual basis in academic subject areas like Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students pursuing a college degree in education, retired teachers, and other community volunteers with a variety of career backgrounds assist in tutoring our members. The program is open to students of all ages, elementary, middle and high school. We are open 5 days a week during the school year from 3 to 5 pm.

Volunteer Mentors provide our high school members the opportunity to interact one on one with caring adults on a regular basis. Volunteer mentors are needed as positive role models from the community. One-on-one mentoring sessions take place once a week for approximately one hour at our Boys & Girls Club Main Campus located at 7500 Davis Blvd. in Naples. Training and mentoring activities will be provided to those who volunteer for participation in this program. Mentoring sessions would include such areas as academic achievement through homework assistance, exploring career goals, applying for colleges and scholarships, solving life issues and improving self-esteem. Commitment and consistency are important to this program. Interested volunteers will need to apply through the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County and undergo an interview process and a background check.

Benefits Offered: At the completion of your service learning program, BGCCC will provide a signed letter on BGCCC letterhead stating your total hours worked and a summary of your services provided. During the summer program, volunteers working 6 or more hour shifts will receive lunch.
Additional Information: Applicants must:
*Be at least 16 years old.
*Contact the Volunteer Coordinator
*Visit or main campus on Davis Boulevard
* Upon request, submit a Volunteer Application.
*Provide one letter of reference from a teacher, counselor, or former employer.
*Be screened by Professional Club staff.
*Undergo a background check (18 years and older)
*Attend an orientation on the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County volunteer policies and procedures.
* Read the volunteer Handbook which illustrates volunteer policies and procedures of the Club.
*Sign a letter of agreement verifying that the procedures and expectations are understood.
