We partner with guardians, volunteers and others in the community and hold ourselves accountable for each child in our program achieving: Higher aspirations, greater confidence, better relationships, avoidance of risky behaviors and educational success. |
| Job Description: |
Our agency currently offers our community based program and school based program. Community program is a minimum of one year committment and mentoring with the child a minimum of three times a month. Schedule is flexible for mentoring as the meeting time and place is arranged between the guardian, child and the mentor. The objective is to provide a child with a positive role model who can spend time with the child on a one to one basis. The hope is the match will establish a life-long relationship much like any other big brother or sister.
The school based program is a minimum of a one year commitment where the volunteer will meet with the child for one hour, once a week at their school, therefore 4 hours a month. The volunteer and child can work on school work, or according to that childs needs.
