St. Matthews House

County: Collier
Categories Marketing/PR/Event Planning
Finance/Accounting
Social Services
Details: The mission of St. Matthews House is to change lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined, as well as provide housing to the homeless and food for the needy.

For more than 25 years St. Matthews House has offered food, shelter and safety to our areas most vulnerable residents. It is not a permanent place to live. It is through a commitment to accountability and responsibility that the residents of St. Matthews House are able to return to living independently as productive members of society. With this approach to individual care, we witness the restoration of lives on a daily basis.

We operate two shelters, two food pantries, a feeding ministry, Justin's Place Recovery Programs for Men and Women. One shelter is in Naples and the other in Immokalee. The two food pantries operate out of these shelters. The feeding ministry serves lunch and dinner from in front of Justins Place on Airport Road South and has not missed a day of serving in over 25 years.

We now also offer a family retreat and conference center at our Port Labelle Inn location. Here families, businesses, churches and community organizations are able to enjoy the tranquil surroundings as they focus on their event. This facility affords hospitality training for our Justin's Place men. Here they also participate in some outdoor growing projects with Echo Farms as well as service dog training with the Guardian Angels to benefit veterans and those with special medical needs.

Participation is voluntary and is open to all men & women who want to change their lives.

Our Immokalee Friendship House serves as a shelter and feeding ministry that caters to hundreds of in-need individuals every year.
