Details: The Pine Manor Improvement Association is a private non-profit agency that provides services to approximately 3,000 children and families that are at risk in the Pine Manor area of Fort Myers. We have been active in the community for 26 years and have been designated as a 501©3 for seven years.

Pine Manor is one of five neighborhoods designated by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as “blighted” and in need of direct social service delivery. Our mission is: Equip, educate and empower the families, individuals and children of Pine Manor for a better quality of life. We have a proven track record for meeting project objectives and have worked with Lee County Board of Commissioners to develop and work toward projects which:

Empower the communities to promote safe, viable neighborhoods;

Provide decent housing; and

Encourage economic opportunities
Job Description: GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Pine Manor Volunteer Coordinator provides professional staff support to PMIA CLIENTSs ensuring that those involved in PMIA program receive sound advocacy and service. The Volunteer is responsible for coordination of Volunteers, Probation and Community Service hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*The Pine Manor Volunteer Coordinator should have the following skills and experience:

*The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles. Experience with volunteers given preference.

*The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.

*Commitment to PMIA’s goals and mission.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Pine Manor Volunteer Coordinator reports directly to the Pine Manor Director who is responsible for his/her performance evaluations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Complete ACCESS, Computer and Emergency Food Bank training.

*Maintain sing in sheets assuring that they are filled out completely for all volunteers.

*Maintain volunteer packets and go over orientation process for each volunteer, or community service participant.

*Monthly report to Director on number of volunteers and volunteer hours, due by the 1st of each month.

*Attend staff meetings and assist in the evaluation of the program.

*Attend in service trainings and assist with coordination if requested.

*Organize volunteers to assist at each of our 11 annual events and special events.

*Provide office coverage as assigned by the Director

Other duties as may be assigned by the Director or the Chairman of the Board.

Additional Information: Many of our programs are prevention oriented and are devoted promoting success in school and preventing delinquency among at-risk youth. Programs such as ours are the basis for an effective continuum of care because they are often the point of entry for families in need of multiple services. By interacting with the families on a daily basis, we are able to identify additional services needed and to make referrals to other agencies as needed.
