Details: Calebís Crusade is a 501c3 non-profit (Tax ID # 26-3137814) foundation in loving memory of our son, Caleb Whan. Caleb was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia at 3 1/2 years of age. Caleb underwent many chemo treatments, Total Body Radiation, and a Stem Cell Transplant. Sadly, after 7 months of treatment at Duke University, and the Childrens Hospital of SWFL, Caleb relapsed and there was no options for a cure. He passed away 11 short days after his 4th Birthday.
Calebís Crusade Against Childhood Cancer is based on helping families whose children have a pediatric cancer, awareness, advocacy and research. The needs of a newly diagnosed family are alwayís devastating. Whether it is a mortgage payment, car payment, utility bills, or a cost that the health care provider will not provide, Calebís Crusade is there to help.
In the future, Calebís Crusade will also take part in a Research grant. Pediatric cancer is very underfunded by the government and many large national organization even though it is the #1 disease killer in our children. There are a few major organization that we plan to make joint grants for research, St. Baldricks Foundation, Alexís Lemonade Stand, Jeff Gordon Foundation, and/or Cure Search.
