Details: The Foundation for the Developmentally Disabled strives to enhance the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families though: education, social and recreational activities; advocating for employment and housing options; and raising community awareness.
Job Description: We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available and would appreciate anything you are able to do for us.  Below is a summary of some of the programs we have available.

Bowling League: FDD hosts two bowling leagues weekly (one on Monday mornings and one on Thursday afternoons). Assistance is needed as lane captains to help our clients keep score, and keep the flow of the games going.

Recreational Baseball League: We operate an adult baseball league on Saturdays from January to April. Volunteers are needed as coaches and assistants to the players.

Trailblazer Academy: FDD is establishing a Trailblazer Academy with 5 pillars of education & personal development: 1) Job training & exploration, 2) Entrepreneurship Club, 3)Nutrition & Health, 4)Personal Finance, 5)Discovering the Arts. Volunteers are needed to develop curriculum & teach classes. Classes will meet once a week for 4 hours for an 8 week period.

Social Programs: FDD hosts monthly social events where we need “day of” volunteers for some of our monthly social events (which are held in the evenings, usually on the weekend). We also have a once a month Activity night with activities ranging from games (bingo, bunco) to yoga to movie nights.  FDD also hosts special one day community outings and special events for our clients and help is needed to plan and supervise these events.
