Oak Hammock Middle School AVID Program

Details: AVID is a college readiness program that prepares students for rigorous coursework in high school and college. The AVID curriculum consists of writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization and reading.
Job Description: The AVID program requires college tutors to come into the AVID classes twice a week to help facilitate small group tutorial sessions. AVID tutors work with groups of 7-8 students who take turns presenting their academic problem. The tutor acts as a facilitator only to the group.

Additional Information: Tutorials are held on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. We currently have three sections of AVID that meet for 1 hour and 20 minutes on a block schedule. The schedule is very flexible
