With a new interim director at the helm of the Office of Service-Learning / Center for Civic Engagement we thought it appropriate to start a publication that would reflect our ongoing commitment and dedication to bringing you the latest news, activities and endeavors surrounding Service-Learning and the communities we work with.

On the Wing will be updated once a semester to recognize student and faculty involvement, highlight our community partners, showcase interesting service-learning projects, provide information and serve as a link between EaglesConnect and the FGCU community.

In case you haven’t already guessed EaglesConnect is the nickname of the service-learning program and as the name implies, the Eagles (that’s students, faculty and staff) are connecting – to new learning experiences, to the community and to each other. One of the ways we connect is through this newsletter (as well as our website and our Facebook page). Visit us often so you can get the scoop. Or better yet sign up for an electronic subscription to On the Wing.

Students, faculty or staff who would like to share their service-learning experiences are invited to submit articles to On the Wing. Please remember that confidentiality is a major concern. We ask that you delete any identifying information about the agency's clients before submission.
