FGCU’s New Student Convocation ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 23rd at 2:00 PM in Alico Arena. Volunteers are needed to greet attendees, hand out programs, direct students and families to appropriate seating areas/facilities/exits, and various tasks following the conclusion of the ceremony.
This is a great opportunity to earn Service Learning hours for your efforts!The time commitment involves assisting on the day of the event as well as attending a walk-through for a maximum of 5-6 hours total. (Please ask about opportunities for additional hours if you are interested).
Walk-through:
A mandatory walk-through for all volunteers will be held on the afternoon of Friday August 21st at Alico Arena. This will last approximately 30 minutes. The exact time will be determined at a later date.
Convocation Day
* All volunteers must arrive in Alico Arena by 12:30pm on August 23rd.
* Anticipated completion time is 3:30pm
*Volunteers should wear white collared shirts and khaki pants.

* You must attend the walk-through and assist on the day of the event to receive Service Learning Hours.*
**Please note that the ceremony is the day before classes begin for the Fall semester**
