Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering Sciences
Dr. Diane Bondehagen joined FGCU as Assistant Professor in the new Department of Environmental & Civil Engineering in August 2006. Dr. Bondehagen attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in mechanical engineering in 1983. After graduation, she worked several years in consulting and in the utility industry in Wisconsin. She then moved to Miami, Florida where she served as project engineer/sales manager for an industrial refrigeration manufacturer, Latin American regional office.
While working in Miami, she pursued a Master of Science degree in civil and environmental engineering at Florida International University and received her degree in 1999. After obtaining an EPA Star Fellowship to begin her doctoral studies, she transferred to the University of Florida in 2000 to pursue her Ph.D. in environmental engineering sciences where she completed her degree in August 2005. She then continued research and teaching at the University of Florida. She began her Assistant Professorship in Environmental Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University in August 2006.
