The Grant-in-Aid Educational Leave application process has begun. This annual initiative provides paid educational leave to eligible employees pursuing programs of study toward enhancement and growth in their current and/or future job responsibilities.
Usually, four (4) awards are provided each academic year as follows: two (2) to Support Personnel (SP) and two (2) to Faculty or Administrative and Professional (A&P) employees. Recipients assume a work and repayment obligation as a condition of accepting the award.
Employees interested in applying for this award or wishing to obtain more information, contact Linda Cento on behalf of the Office of Equity and Diversity at 239-590-7405 or via e-mail at lcento@fgcu.edu. The Equity and Diversity office is located in Academic Building 5, Room 213. The forms are located here.
The Office of Equity and Diversity seeks:
To foster productive educational and work environments that nurture and value equity, diversity, respect, human understanding, and access for our constituents by providing awareness, tools and resources to eliminate bias, illegal discrimination and harassment to support the University’s vision, mission and strategies; and
To develop and foster a setting, which celebrates differences, and welcomes and serves students, faculty, staff, visitors and vendors from all aspects of diversity.
One of Florida Gulf Coast University's Guiding Principles is that "diversity is a source of renewal and strength." The Office provides leadership and guidance to this end.
