Tuition Waivers

A Graduate tuition waiver covers the tuition fee for an in-state or out-of-state student. Tuition Graduate tuition waivers cover only the graduate matriculation (tuition) fee for in-state or out-of-state students, depending on the residency of the student. Waivers do not cover undergraduate courses or any additional fees.

  • To apply for a tuition waiver, students must:
    • Be admitted to FGCU as a degree-seeking graduate student or have a pending application for admission.
    • Submit application and supplemental materials, as required by your program, by the deadline dates below.
      *Incomplete applications may not be given full consideration.
      Fall Deadline: May 1  /  Spring Deadline: October 1  /  Summer Deadline: March 1

      Arts & Sciences English, Environmental Science/Studies, History, and Mathematics:
      Waiver form only - no extra requirements
      Public Administration:

      Criminal Justice & Forensic Studies: Supplemental Application
      Business All Programs: Resume & Personal Statement
      Education EdS & EdD: FAFSA, Statement of Financial Need (optional)
      All Other COE Programs: FAFSA, Resume, Statement of Financial Need (optional)
      Health Professions & Social Work Social Work: Supplemental Application, Statement of Financial Need
      Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy: FAFSA completed, Statement of Financial Need (Include how waiver will impact performance & service activities you're involved in.)
      Counseling (Mental Health & School): FAFSA, Resume, Statement of Financial Need
      All Other CHPSW Programs: Statement of Financial Need

Scholarships

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies offers one scholarship out of our department annually for current FGCU Graduate Students. The Graduate Studies scholarship is $2,500 and is awarded to 6-8 current FGCU graduate students annually. The deadline to apply is April 15. Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships are hourly-waged or stipend student employment opportunities. Graduate assistantships are available through academic departments and administrative units within the University. Please check with your Academic department for current graduate assistantship opportunities. Another resource for on-campus and off-campus employment is the College Central Network service through the Career Development Services website.
