For a faculty member to teach at the graduate level, mentor a graduate student, serve on a student’s graduate committee, or provide service to the university with respect to graduate education, he or she must be a member of the Graduate Faculty. The University has defined the minimum criteria that must be met to receive Graduate Faculty Status. Colleges, departments, and programs may require more stringent criteria. Please contact your chair or program coordinator to determine if something beyond the University criteria is required. Colleges typically have an annual call for Graduate Faculty Applications. For more details regarding the credentialing of graduate faculty, please refer to the Graduate Faculty Appointment and Review Policy document available on the Faculty Senate web site (http://www.fgcu.edu/FacultySenate/resources.html).
