We are excited that you have chosen to apply to FGCU Graduate Studies! Please find applications and required forms to apply below.
IMPORTANT: Official, hard copy transcripts (in the original sealed envelope) from every college and/or university that comprises your entire academic record, are required unless you have graduated from FGCU or currently attend FGCU for your bachelor’s degree. You may submit unofficial transcripts in order to expedite the processing of your file, but if admitted to the program, you will need the official transcripts before you register for classes.
Please note: When requesting college transcripts, make sure to request a hard copy to be mailed to our office as many institutions will send electronic transcripts automatically and we are not able to accept them.
A graduate entrance exam is required and some programs also require supplemental materials to be submitted. Please visit our Degrees and Programs page to view the requirements for your specific program.
English Proficiency Updated 9-7-12
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency in accordance with University policy and will be required to submit acceptable TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores unless the country of origin uses English as the official language. A minimum score of 213 is required on the computerized TOEFL, 79 on the internet based TOEFL, and 550 on the paper based TOEFL. With the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies (or designee) and the appropriate college dean, applicants may furnish satisfactory evidence of English competency in lieu of the TOEFL. Examples of satisfactory evidence include, but are not limited to, completion of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System, www.IELTS.org) with a minimum score of 6.5; completion of English Composition I and II (ENC 1101 and ENC 1102, or equivalent) with a grade of C or higher; and/or a minimum of 60 credits satisfactorily completed at an accredited institution of higher education where all courses are taught in English.
Meeting minimum University and program criteria does not guarantee admission into a specific graduate program.
