Welcome to Graduate Studies at FGCU! Congratulations on taking the first step towards graduate school. You have selected one of the most beautiful places on earth to pursue your graduate degree. Founded in 1997 as the tenth state university in Florida, FGCU offers the credibility and affordability of a state university, the first-class facilities and technology of a new university, and the small class size of a private university. Located on 760 acres, the FGCU campus was designed to showcase the beauty of the natural setting of Southwest Florida. FGCU is committed to environmental sustainability by the preservation of natural habitats, green buildings, energy production and conservation. The campus also boasts a 16 acre solar field, which is the largest on a university campus in the nation.
As a graduate student at FGCU, you will have free access to a fully-equipped fitness center, an expansive aquatics center, athletic facilities, and waterfront activities at our private beach. FGCU also offers the excitement of an art gallery, theater, and Division 1 athletics. Students can also participate in one of over 100 clubs and organizations or intramural sports. The entire campus is equipped with a wireless network for laptop use.
Currently, FGCU has approximately 1,100 aspiring graduate students. Many of our students are attending courses part-time and many programs offer courses in the evenings and by distance learning (online) to make a degree possible for active professionals. In addition, graduate students enjoy the luxury of small class sizes with an average of just 15 students in each class
