Mission, Vision and Learning Outcomes
Mission Statement
Graduate Studies maintains as its mission and purpose to provide accurate and current information to prospective students and the university community regarding graduate programs and the application process for graduate studies; to facilitate the effective and efficient processing of graduate applications; and to provide open communication between Graduate Studies and college/program representatives. We strive to be a student-centered team, committed to quality customer service and continuous improvement.
Vision Statement
Graduate Studies at Florida Gulf Coast University:
- Will provide efficient and accurate processing of graduate applications and information requests.
- Will disseminate consistent, relevant and informative materials on Graduate Programs at Florida Gulf Coast University.
- Will create a professional environment to foster effective communication that meets the unique and competing needs of applicants and FGCU faculty.
- Will act as a team committed to ethical practice, quality service, open communication, and continuous improvement
Graduate Student Learning Outcomes
Graduates of advanced degree programs at Florida Gulf Coast University will:
- Demonstrate excellence in critical thinking, problem-solving, analysis, and strategic planning,
- Demonstrate effective use of a variety of communication skills and modalities,
- Exhibit professional and technical expertise consistent with discipline and/or content area specific accrediting or licensing bodies,
- Be prepared for leadership roles in professional and occupational areas and in communities in which they live and work, and
- Demonstrate the capacity for continuing learning, growth, and scholarly activity in their respective disciplines and fields of study.
