FGCU Blood Drive

The next FGCU Blood Drive will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012 and Wednesday February 1, 2012 from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. The bloodmobile will be located in Parking Lot 5. Their schedule allows for donations from 50 employees or students.

Each unit of accepted blood will be credited to the FGCU account. These credits can be used to help employees, students and their immediate family defray the replacement cost in the event a need for blood arises.

The entire process will take between 30-40 minutes, but the actual donation only takes between four and seven minutes. This time is considered work time and does not require the use of annual or other leave. It is recommended that you eat within four hours of donating. SPECIAL NOTE: Photo ID is required to donate blood.

Please click here for information regarding donating blood through NCH Community Blood Center.

Faculty & Staff

Located on the \\Fgcu-coral\Root\Campus\CrossDept\Human Resources folder is an EXCEL file called Blood Donations.xls to use as a sign-up sheet. (Do not open it in MSWord and do not open as read-only.) The bloodmobile can accommodate up to 2 donors every 15 minutes. Please place your name & office extension number in the slot that best suits your schedule. REMEMBER TO SAVE & CLOSE THE SPREADSHEET as only one user can access it at a time.

Students

Students may schedule appointments by e-mailing hr@fgcu.edu.

Remember - When you give blood, you are giving life to someone in need.

If you have any questions, please call Human Resources at 590-1400 or email hr@fgcu.edu.
