Each year, the annual benefits Open Enrollment period gives employees an opportunity to look at their existing benefit plans to evaluate any anticipated needs and to make adjustments for the upcoming plan year.

Open Enrollment Period, Oct. 21-Nov. 8
Open Enrollment begins Oct. 21 and ends Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. EST. Remember, you can make changes to your elections during Open Enrollment as many times as you want. Once Open Enrollment ends, an appropriate qualifying event is required to make a change during the plan year.
Open Enrollment packets will be mailed mid-October to all employees eligible to participate in the State Group Insurance Program. To receive your packet in a timely manner, please complete your address verification in People First before October 4.

What's new this year?
The PPO pre-existing condition limitation has been removed. Employees enrolled in the Health Investor Health Plan with HSA contributions limits have increased to $2,800 for individual coverage and $5,500 for family coverage.
The State of Florida and People First will be offering benefits to temporary employees during the fall Open Enrollment period with coverage beginning January 1, 2014. The state will offer benefits to OPS and other temporary employees who work an average of 30 hours/week. Those who meet the criteria will receive an Open Enrollment packet from People First that provides information on plans and how to enroll. Additional information on OPS eligibility under the ACA will be provided on the HR ACA webpage.
Current benefit-eligible faculty and staff who have an FTE of .75 or more will be considered full-time and eligible for the full employer contributions for state health and basic life plans.
