As mentioned in the June 2010 issue of HR Updates, in July 2010 People First will have a new look and feel to make it easier and quicker to complete your state-sponsored benefit enrollments and changes. The People First upgrade is currently scheduled for July 20, 2010. In order to implement this upgrade the People First system will be unavailable beginning July 9, 2010, at 5 p.m. The target date for the system to be back on-line is July 20, 2010, at 8 a.m.
What does this mean to you?
Enrollments and Qualified Status Changes (QSCs) processing which need to be completed during the People first system downtime should be handled as described below. Please note that all QSCs, including new employee enrollments, must occur within the QSC window and no extensions to the QSC windows will be granted due to system downtime.
QSCs that expire during the system downtime:

If elections are not made before July 9, the employee must complete the manual enrollment forms and fax them to the People First service center prior to their QSC expiration date.
QSCs that start prior to the system downtime and expire after the system comes back on-line:
(Preferred Process) Employees can make their elections through the system either prior to the downtime or once the system comes back on line.
Employees can complete the manual enrollment forms and fax them to the People First service center prior to their QSC expiration date.
New QSCs that occur during system downtime:
(Preferred Process) Employee should initiate the new QSC when the new system comes back on-line.
Employees can complete the manual enrollment forms and fax them to the People First service center prior to their QSC expiration date.
