2011-2012 Salary Increase for Out-of-Unit Faculty, A&P and Support Personnel

GENERAL INFORMATION SUMMARY

The University has provided a two (2%) percent salary increase for the fiscal year 2011-12 to become effective January 1, 2012. Additionally, the University has provided funds for a $1,000 one-time, lump sum bonus effective October 1, 2011. The information provided below outlines the criteria for determining an employee’s eligibility to receive the salary increase and bonus, and the guidelines for implementation of the base salary adjustment and bonus.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the $1,000 lump sum bonus payment, out-of-unit faculty (non-adjunct, non-bargaining unit faculty), A&P and Support Personnel employees (non-OPS) must have been in continuous pay status in a salary position at FGCU on July 1, 2011, have an overall performance evaluation rating of “Meets Expectations” or above in effect on September 30, 2011 and be employed at FGCU on October 1, 2011.

To be eligible for the 2% base salary increase, out-of-unit faculty, A&P and Support Personnel employees must have been in continuous pay status in a salary position on July 1, 2011, have an overall performance evaluation rating of “Meets Expectations” or above in effect on December 31, 2011 and be employed on January 1, 2012. An employee who has an overall “Below Expectations” or “Unsatisfactory” performance appraisal in effect on December 31, 2011 will receive the 2% increase if he/she attains at least a “Meets Expectations” rating prior to July 1, 2012. Such delayed increase will be effective on the date the performance appraisal is administered and the increase will not be retroactive.

For those employees who do not have an evaluation on file, the overall performance evaluation rating shall be considered to be “Meets Expectations” for the purposes of this salary increase.

An employee who has received a separate notice of ineligibility or notice of separation is not eligible for the bonus or the 2% base salary increase.

IMPLEMENTATION

All eligible out-of-unit Faculty, A&P and Support Personnel employees shall receive a $1,000 lump sum bonus on Monday, October 3, 2011, as a supplemental payroll.

All eligible out-of-unit Faculty, A&P and Support Personnel employees shall receive a pay adjustment of 2% calculated on each employee’s December 31, 2011, base salary (total salary minus stipend, if any) to be reflected in the Friday, January 13, 2012, pay check.

OTHER CONDITIONS

Employees on leave of absence without pay on October 1, 2011, and who are otherwise eligible for the University provided bonus will be provided the bonus in the first paycheck received after returning to work.

Employees on leave of absence without pay on December 31, 2011, and who are otherwise eligible for the 2% base salary increase shall receive the increase effective the date they return to work. The base salary increase will not be retroactive to January 1, 2012.

All eligible out-of-unit Faculty (non-adjunct), A&P and Support Personnel employees appointed to less than 1.00 FTE will receive a bonus payment prorated based on the FTE.
