Every year Honors supports several study away and study abroad opportunities. The vast majority of these experiences are courses that spend 2-4 weeks outside of the States. During the past three years, we have supported students studying in the Bahamas, Brazil, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Ghana, just to name a few places. Additionally, Honors has offered classes with experiential components within the U.S. and has funded students for domestic experiences.
In Summer 2011, Honors will be traveling to Craftsbury, VT for a class on embodied philosophy. This course will take place at a world-class running facility and students will have the opportunity to challenge themselves both physically and mentally as they will spend their non-course time training with some of the best conditioned athletes in the world!
Besides our own excursions, Honors works very closely with the International Services Office to advise students about the best study abroad options for them. While we generally encourage students to look at schools with which FGCU has articulation agreements, the opportunities for foreign study are just about endless!
