 The FGCU Honors Program is NOT currently accepting applications.

Deadlines: 

  • As of April 27, 2010 the FGCU Honors Program will no longer be accepting applications for the 2010-2011 acedemic school year.

Instructions 

  • Please fill out the application form and submit on-line.  This will allow us to track your application and respond in a timely manner.  
  • All required fields must be completed before submittig your application. 
  • The essay (question #8) is one of the most important parts of the application. We will judge responses for clarity and depth of thought, sophistication  of prose and argumentation, and general quality of content and style. Your response should be between 750 and 1250 words (3-5 pages).
  • The essay topic for the Fall 2010 is: Describe how your education will make the world a better and/or more interesting place to live in.
  • If cutting and pasting your essay:  REMOVE ALL DASHES ( - ) or you may receive an error message upon submission. Any dashes within your essay or e-mail adress may result in an error.

*Applicants who submit an essay with a length of less than 500 words will be automatically rejected.

Benefits
9.) Honors students are eligible for priority consideration for residence Honors Hall.
Would you like to be considered for housing in Honors Hall? (Note: All incoming
honors students who are incoming freshmen who are living on campus must opt to
live in Honors Hall or a special academic [music, engineering] or athletic
[cross-country, soccer, etc] residence community to receive a renewable honors
scholarship.) If 'yes' you should also request Honors Hall on your application

10.) Honors students are eligible for consideration for special scholarships.

The boxes that you check will in no way impact your chances for admission.) * Standard Honors Scholarship ($1500 scholarship that is renewable under the conditions listed in the Honors Handbook or $500 non-renewable scholarship. Incoming freshmen who will reside on campus must choose to live in Honors Hall or another academic or athletic residence community to receive the $1500 scholarship.)
Housing waiver (must be used for Honors Hall)

11.) Honors students who are not receiving Bright Futures awards are eligible for
consideration for tuition waivers. Are you or do you anticipate receiving a
Bright Futures award?
Note: Receipt of any award from Bright Futures voids a student's claim to an Honors Tuition Waiver. Please select an item.
12.) Students are invited to submit letters of recommendation to support their
application. Letters can be sent to Carey Fells; FGCU Honors Program;
Florida Gulf University; Fort Myers, FL 33965. Would you like us to hold
