The Public Leadership Program (PLP) is an ideal experience for students who have an interest in developing their service and civic skills. This Program, which is co-sponsored with the FGCU Center for Civic Engagement, provides civic education in an academic environment. Working with professors, local service partners, and their peers, students in PLP develop skills in volunteerism, civic engagement, and public achievement. Through a series of courses, workshops, and presentations students learn how to effectively work with a community partner to design and implement a major service project. The students' junior project provides a platform for them to build the lifelong skills necessary for a life of committed civic service.
