Honors Program

President's Gold Scholarship Recipients
Honors' admissions staff will send you an official Honors acceptance letter shortly after your scholarship notification. Gold Scholar recipients have until May 1, 2014 to reserve their seat in Honors.
Merit Scholarship Recipients
Honors' admissions staff will review the relevant applicaion materials of students who accept the scholarship prior to March 15, 2014. Students admitted into the Honors Program will recieve an admission letter directly from Honors. Admitted students will have until May 1st to reserve their seats in Honors.
Current FGCU Students
Honors accepts applicaions from current FGCU students during the first month of Fall and Spring semesters. Students must hand in a 200-word bio (written in the third person), resume, transcript, and letter of recommendation form to the Honors office in Reed Hall 155. At that time an interview will be scheduled. The deadline for Fall 2014 is September 29, 2014 by 5PM.
Transfer Students
Honors accepts applicantions from transfer students during Summer semester. Students must hand in or send a 200-word bio (written in the thrid person), resume, transcirpt and letter of recommendation form to the Honors office in Reed Hall 155; Florida Gulf Coast University; Fort Myers, FL 33965. Once application materials have been submitted applicants may call 239-590-7490 to arrange an interview. The deadline for Fall 2014 is July 1, 2014 by 5PM. Applicants should have a 3.65 or higher GPA at their current university. If a student is a graduate of an honors program, this should be noted in the application materials.
First-Year Students (including Collegiate High School, International Baccalaureate, and Advance Placement)
Honors reviews relevant application materials on a rolling basis. If you are an FTIC (First Time in College) freshman, there is no separate application process for the FGCU Honors Program. Once admitted into FGCU, students who meet our admission standard will be automatically notified of their admission to Honors. Unless otherwise noted in the honors acceptance letter, admitted students will have until May 1, 2014 to reserve their seat in the Honors Program.
