Study Abroad With The Hunter Institute !

. Mathias Cathedral

St. Mathias Cathedral, Budapest

Through a unique partnership with the University of West Hungary, FGCU College of Education students enrolled as Early Childhood and Elementary Education majors have the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program to Austria and Hungary. Throughout the study abroad, students learn about the University of West Hungary's very successful Kindergarten program (age 3 to grade 3) and about the highly effective practices being used to address children's social, emotional, physical and academic development. FGCU students also prepare and teach lessons in English immersion classes in Hungarian pre-k and primary grade classrooms, learn alongside The University of West Hungary's College of Education faculty, attend teacher preparation courses, and participate in a variety of international exchanges with students from all over the world! Of course, no international study abroad program would be complete without the opportunity to experience the culture of the host countries and FGCU students visit the historical and culturally significant sites of Vienna (the city of music) and beautiful Budapest!

Applications for the Hunter Institute's study abroad program to Austria and Hungary will be available early in the Fall 2016 semester.  Scholarship funds will also be available for those applicants that are selected for the program.  Look for additional information to be coming soon and be sure to check out the websites below as well!
