Workshop Description:

This course teaches the Lean/Six Sigma fundamentals and their application to provide a solid foundation in process improvement. Participants will learn how to identify and reduce and/or eliminate waste in organizational processes as well as be able to distinguish between value added and non-value added steps. Additionally, they will be shown how to determine when defects are occurring in a process as well as being able to identify and reduce variation in processes. The end result is to gain skills to implement cost reductions and bring about improvements in organizational capabilities and capacities.

As part of the class, participants will be expected to identify a process problem area at their respective organizations and facilitate a process improvement team to apply the Lean Sigma methodologies and tools learned to solve the problem. The objective of this workshop is to equip you with tools that result in meaningful cost savings, revenue increase, or a combination of the two.
