Workshop Description: The Florida Institute of Government offers four levels of certifications for Code Enforcement Professionals:
Fundamentals of Code Enforcement - Level I
Administrative Aspects of Code Enforcement - Level II
Legal Aspects of Code Enforcement - Level III
Officer Safety and Field Applications - Level IV
Certification requires attendance at all of the training sessions and passing an exam for each level. After becoming certified, participants must complete 16 hours of approved continuing education courses within a two-year period in order to maintain certification. Most of the professional development programs offered by the FIOG will qualify meeting your continuing education needs. (Just look for the * following the topic title.)
Most code enforcement officers find they benefit from belonging to the Florida Association of Code Enforcement (F.A.C.E.). An immediate benefit is the registration fee discount for certification training and exams.
