The John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government (IOG) is a statewide Institute established in 1981 by the Florida Legislature. The mission of the Institute is to increase the effectiveness and quality of organizational performance in Southwest Florida through training, professional development, and technical assistance programs. There are 6 Institutes in the state that are part of the consortium of services to the state and local community.
The IOG has been housed at Florida Gulf Coast University for more than 10 years, and was located at Edison Community College for 15 years prior to moving to FGCU. Last year the IOG designed and presented both open-enrollment and customized, in-house professional development workshops, and directly served more than 4,000 participants. The IOG also facilitated 7 technical assistance projects that ranged from Strategic Planning Retreats and Developing Records Management Systems, to Program Evaluation and Staffing Studies for the local community.
Local governments, businesses and non profits in Southwest Florida have come to depend on the Institute as a resource for their professional and organizational development needs and challenges. The IOG is here to serve you if you are looking for local or statewide resources to provide high quality professional services.
We look forward to hearing from you!!
