Meet the Staff

Dr. Dyonne Bergeron

Dr. Dyonne Bergeron was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and has been working in higher education for more than 14 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Louisiana State University, Master of Education in College Student Affairs from the University of South Florida, and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in College Leadership from the University of South Florida.  She has served in higher education in several capacities. She served as the Program Director of the First Year Success Institute/Freshmen Summer Institute and U-First Program and Senior Academic Advisor at the University of South Florida; Directors of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Greek Community Coordinator for Greek Housing at the University of Georgia and the University of South Florida respectively; Advisor for Greek Life and Interim Coordinator of the African American Culture Center at Louisiana State University.

Dereika Pinder

Coordinator for Multicultural and Leadership Development

Dereika Pinder was born in the Bahamas, where she left upon graduating high school to attend college.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Philander Smith College and a Master of Science in Organizational Learning in Leadership specializing in Higher Education Administration at Barry University.  Her past experience is with Student Involvement, where she gained experience in programming, leadership, new student orientation, first year experience and multiculturalism.

Ysatiz Pinero

Ysatiz Pinero

Coordinator for Multicultural Development 
Ysatiz M. Piñero was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Miami and Cape Coral, FL. Ysa, as most know her, earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminal Forensic Studies right here at Florida Gulf Coast University and her Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University in Miami, FL. Ysa has experience in Undergraduate Admissions as a Counselor and Recruiter. She also has experience in advising student organizations and facilitating trainings, programs, and retreats focused on multicultural and leadership development.
