About the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance

In the Fall of 2004, the President appointed a Workgroup to review staff, office roles and functions of the Office of Educational Services (OES). Since the University’s inception, that office primarily addressed and processed student and employee informal/formal complaints and grievances, and conducted mediation activity. To respond to the growth and ensure high quality services, the Workgroup was charged with recommending changes that would enhance the successful functioning of OES in carrying out its mission.

Significant among the accepted and approved recommendations was to rename the Office of Educational Services (OES) to the new Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC). Today, Ms. Cheryl Seals-Gonzalez is the Director of Institutional Equity and Compliance. Ms. Linda Cento is Administrative Assistant.
