The University has coordinated with Lee County Solid Waste for disposition of electronic equipment.

Any department that has electronic equipment requiring disposal should contact the Work 

Please ensure the item is no longer on inventory, and has been cleared of its memory prior to contacting the Work Management Center for disposalManagement Center at 590-1370 or, and provide both the location and amount of electronics to be recycled.


Non-rechargeable batteries produced during or after 1993 no longer contain mercury. While they cannot be recycled, they can be thrown away without the threat of contamination.

Rechargeable batteries can be recycled, and the Environmental Health & Safety Department has placed several bins across campus for battery recycling. Refer to their website for more information.
