Staff Advisory Council Professional Development Program (SAC PDP)
Congratulations to the two recipients of the 2014 SAC Professional Development Program funds: Rachel Anderson and Alex Villarreal! Rachel Anderson is our A&P recipient. She works for Undergraduate Admissions and has been awarded funds to help her attend the June 2014 Annual CIVSA Conference in Chicago. Alex Villarreal is our SP recipient. He works at Physical Plant and has been awarded funds towards obtaining his certification as Association of Facilities Engineering’s Certified Plant Supervisor.
SAC is committed to providing a forum that will directly address the issues and concerns of the Staff at Florida Gulf Coast University, and strive to ensure a campus climate that reflects a strong, enthusiastic, and positive quality work life. We hope that the FGCU careers of Rachel and Alex will benefit from their selection as our 2014 SAC Professional Development Program recipients.
The SAC PDP was established to help provide Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) staff opportunities for professional development. The goal of the program is to assist staff with covering the cost of professional development opportunities that would not be possible without financial assistance. These opportunities must be directly related to career goals and current work responsibilities at FGCU. Awards will be determined based on a combination of demonstrated financial need, responses to the questions on the application, a one-page letter, and a letter from the applicant’s supervisor acknowledging support for the applicant to attend the specified professional development opportunity. Staff categorized as Support Personnel (SP) and Administrative & Professional (A&P) are eligible to apply.
Information and guidelines for the 2015 SAC Professional Development Program will be posted to this site in July.
