Financial Aid

All Step Ahead Program participants are encouraged to apply for "need-based" financial aid as communicated through their High School Counselor and FGCU brochures.

Students must apply for financial aid by completing the 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for Summer aid. All Step-Ahead students must apply by the following deadlines in order to be eligible for financial aid:

Starting Semester	First day to apply	Last day to apply
Summer 2013	January 1, 2012	June 30, 2013

In addition, all Step Ahead Program students must complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA to be eligible for financial aid for the 2013-2014 academic year. All STEP AHEAD students who will be attending FGCU during the academic year 2013-2014 must adhere to the following deadlines:

The table below outlines the types of financial aid which are available for summer terms:

Florida Pre-paid	Yes	Florida Pre-paid	Student must notify Florida Pre-paid that their matriculation year will be 2012-2013.
Florida Bright Futures	No	State of Florida	Not available for summer

The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships will package the student's financial aid and will post awards via Gulfline.
