Officer Slapp began his Law Enforcement career in 1985 as a Patrolman with the City of Naples Police Department. After retiring from the Naples Police Department as the Deputy Chief of Police in 2007, Officer Slapp joined the Florida Gulf Coast University Police Department in March 2008. During his career, Officer Slapp has held positions as Police Officer, Narcotics Detective assigned to a DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) multi-jurisdictional task force, Patrol Sergeant, Detective Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Internal Affairs & Training Lieutenant, Police Operations Captain and Deputy Chief of Police. Officer Slapp possesses an Associates degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. Officer Slapp also served a 6-year active duty enlistment in the United States Air Force.
