Operation Identification

“Operation Identification” is a program based on the concept that marked items are more difficult for a thief to dispose of as they can be traced back to the owner.  Property is engraved with the owner’s driver’s license number, or social security number for identification purposes.  The Department offers this service at no cost.  Call 590-1900 to reserve an engraver. 

If you have any valuable property that has a serial number, we encourage you to record that number and keep it in a safe place. Data to be recorded should include make, model, a brief description, approximate value, and any identifying information about the item.

The FGCU Police also recommend that you register your bicycle. Simply bring your bicycle to the University Police Department, located on the north side of the Campus Support Complex. The process is quick and easy.
