My research interests involve using the chemistry of rocks and minerals (called geochemistry) to answer scientific problems raised by the construction of large mountain ranges (called tectonics). The geochemistry of rocks and minerals formed in different tectonic settings vary from one another, and using this difference is the key part of my research. Possible Undergraduate research projects could include working on the geochemical interpretation of rocks and minerals and placing them in a regional tectonic setting under my supervision.
