Admission Requirements

  • Students must meet with a college advisor to declare a minor and review the program requirements.
  • A grade of C or higher is required in all courses for the minor. A minimum of 12 credit hours of the minor must be completed at FGCU.
  • Students desiring certification of a minor and designation on their academic transcript must verify that the minor is displayed on their Graduation Application.


Complete the following:

  • ANT 2040C Foundations in Museum Studies (3)
  • ANT 3942 Museam Internship (3)

Complete one of the following:

  • ANT 3041 Interpreting Museums and Sites (3)
  • HIS 3065 Introduction to Public History (3)

Complete one of the following:

  • ANT 3042C Museum Exhibit Design (3)
  • ANT 3824L Archaeological Field Lab (3)

Complete two additional courses (6 hours) from the following list of approved Museum Studies electives:

  • Museum Administration
    • CGS 1100 Computer Software & Technology (3)
    • GEB 1011 Introduction to Business (3)
    • PUR 3000 Principles of Public Relations (3)
    • PUR 3100 Public Relations Writing (3)

  • Object Care and Exhibition
