Admission Requirements

  • Students must meet with a college advisor to declare a minor and review the course requirements.
  • A grade of C or higher is required for all courses in the minor.
  • A minimum of 12 credit hours of the minor must be completed at FGCU.
  • Students desiring certification of a minor and designation on their academic transcript must:
    • Note the minor on their Application for Graduation.
    • Contact a college advisor to certify completion of all course requirements for the declared minor as listed below.

Requirements

Complete the following:

  • GLY 1000C Physical Geology (4)

Complete one of the following:

  • AST 2100C Solar System Astronomy (4)
  • AST 2004C Stellar Astronomy (4)

Complete the following:

  • 3 to 4 additional credits from any 3000-4999 AST course

Complete the following:

  • 3 to 4 additional credits from any 3000-4999 GLY course

Complete the following:

  • 3 to 4 additional credits from any 3000-4999 AST or GLY course

TOTAL SEMESTER HOURS REQUIRED:   17-20 HRS

Transfer Notes and Acceptable Substitutes

Transfer credits will ordinarily be accepted from regionally accredited institutions and evaluated for appropriate credit towards requirements in the student’s degree program.

GLY 1000 Physical Geology (3) and GLY 1000L Physical Geology Lab (1) can be substituted for GLY 1000C Physical Geology (4)

GLY 1010C Physical Geology or GLY 1010 Physical Geology and GLY 1010L Physical Geology Lab can be substituted for GLY 1000C Physical Geology (4)
