Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides counseling for students in times of stress, and encourages them to ask for help with their most immediate concerns. Our staff is experienced in dealing with deeper developmental and psychological issues ranging from stress and depression to substance abuse and eating disorders.
All concerns are addressed with sensitivity to and respect for diversity and individuality. We maintain the strictest standards of privacy and confidentiality, and serve as a resource to the entire FGCU community.

We are located in Howard Hall, Room 228 : Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm and Friday 8am - 5pm
NEW CLIENTS:
Welcome! To make an appointment, please come to the CAPS office between 12 pm and 4 pm to complete new client data forms.
RETURNING CLIENTS:
Before your first visit back, you will need to update your contact information; depending on how long it has been since you’ve had an appointment, we may ask you to update other forms as well. You may come in at any time before your appointment to do this.
Please understand that during the busiest times of day – generally between 1 and 3 – there may be a wait time for a data entry station.
GROUP COUNSELING:
CAPS offers a number of groups to support our clients' needs. Group members often experience emotional support, empathic understanding, and authentic encouragement from one another. Members report feeling less alone in the world through sharing with others. Click on the "Group Counseling" menu item on the left side of this page to learn more.
