Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides counseling for students in times of stress, and encourages them to ask for help with their most immediate concerns. Our staff is experienced in dealing with deeper developmental and psychological issues ranging from stress and depression to substance abuse and eating disorders. All concerns are addressed with sensitivity to and respect for diversity and individuality. We maintain the strictest standards of privacy and confidentiality, and serve as a resource to the entire FGCU community.

Location: 228 Howard Hall

Hours: Monday: Thursday: Doors open at 8:00am, Last appointment is at 5:00pm

            Friday: Doors open at 8:00am, Last appointment is at 4:00pm 

New Clients:

Welcome! To make an appointment, please come to the CAPS office between 12pm and 4pm to complete new client data forms.

Returning Clients:

Before your first visit back, you will need to update your contact information; depending on how long it has been since you’ve had an appointment, we may ask you to update other forms as well. You may come in at any time before your appointment to do this. Please understand that during the busiest times of day – generally between 1 and 3 – there may be a wait time for a data entry station.

Self Screening

ScreeningThe Screening for Mental Health, Inc system provides a quick and simple way to screen yourself with complete anonymity and confidentiality. A screening indicates symptoms common with a particular disorder, but does not mean that you have that disorder. If concerned, please come to the CAPS office to schedule an appointment.
