Dept of Social and Behavioral Sciences

Department of Social Sciences

The Department of Social Sciences houses the BA programs in Anthropology, History, and Sociology as well as the MA in History. Each of these disciplines connects students to an important facet of the human experience. Anthropology takes knowledge from all disciplines and applies it to solving human problems; History develops the minds and sparks a capacity for critical inquiry; and Sociology prepares students with the knowledge and skills to effect change in society. The programs within this department provide incredible opportunities for independent student research and for working closely on collaborative projects with the faculty within their disciplines. A degree from any of the programs within the Department of Social Sciences lays the foundation to pursue exciting careers across many fields.
