Conferencing

In order to optimize the feedback you receive from the writing consultant, you should complete the following steps:

  1. Provide the consultant with a clear sense of the assignment or project. This includes not only a specific description of the assignment but also any length or research requirements as well.
  2. Number your paragraphs.
  3. Underline your thesis idea and the topic sentences in your body paragraphs.
  4. Draft a list of questions and concerns that you have about your essay.

Note: Please bear in mind that writing consultants will give you valuable feedback regarding the development and organization of the content of your project. They will also be happy to help you with documentation concerns. However, writing consultants are not editors. This means that they will not read over your papers solely to check your spelling and grammar.
